Another preview has come in for Myst DS:

QUOTE
Players that already know how they feel about Myst won't change their minds about the DS version -- for better or worse, this is pretty much the same Myst we've known for all these years.

The article mentions once again the use of the stylus instead of the point-and-click mouse, but does not mention any difficulties with that system, as reported in the European version of the game.

Bottom Line: Plenty of options exist if you want to visit Myst Island, but for adventurers on the go, this pint-sized version is the easiest way.  Time to finally beat Myst, eh?

Mar 21 2008: The Age: Myst a system seller

A blog post at The Age discusses system selling games:

QUOTE
A system seller is the kind of game that makes people gasp and say: "I've got to have one of those" regardless of the cost. It's often because of a significant leap forward in graphics, but can also obviously be because a game offers something unique, never seen before, or appeals to an entirely new audience.

The author lists some examples of system sellers, Myst being one of the ones to get a nod on the PC side of things.

As posted at the Myst Movie blog, Media Geeks has a short write-up about the movie project:

QUOTE
The more people that know about this, the better. We're not talking "Doom" or "Hitman" level of quality here. This movie would focus on plot, and character--the hallmarks of a good movie. These guys are on the right track. They just need the public to be interested in Myst again.

GamePro put up a preview of Myst DS:

Those who haven't played Myst will enjoy how the story unfolds as one advances through the game. Myst doesn't start out with any detailed storyline which sets the premise for what you're doing. Basically, you just start off exploring a seemingly uninhabited island.
